Blessings for a Little Bottom

I just wanted to share a quick story. The other day I was watching Dr. Phil, and the guest that day was a pregnant teen. Dr. Phil was doing everything he could to convince her that she should give her baby up for adoption. He started to go through all of the expenses that come along with having a child. I was watching in amazement as he went through figure after figure, and I started to realize that there is no way Kyle and I have the income right now to support Beck. With Kyle in school and looking for a job and me working only part time, our income barely pays the bills we already have. I wonder what Dr. Phil would say.

Somehow, despite the fact that we're nowhere near financially qualified to care for our son, we've managed to keep a diaper on Beck's bum, food in his tummy, and a roof over his head. Even further than that, he's about the most stylish little boy around. I started to look around Beckham's room (the room in the upstairs of Rick and Linda's house, where we've been living for the past year), and I started to count the things that Kyle and I have paid for. I could count them on one hand. Going around to each item: the swing, the crib, the stroller, the car seat, the bed linens, the toys, the decorations, the burp rags, shampoo, soap, towels, blankets, each piece of clothing, the very room that he sleeps in, I could go on and on...almost everything was given to us, is being shared with us, or was purchased with a gift card. I am floored by the kindness of our family and friends, and even people who are not even necessarily close to our family in any way.

Last week, a co-worker of mine mentioned that she had a coupon for diapers at Costco. She does not have any children, so I said I'd be glad to take it off of her hands and use it to buy diapers for Beckham. She said that instead of me taking the coupon she wanted to take me during her lunch hour to Costco to pick out some diapers, her treat (diapers from Costco are about $40 a box, and the coupon was for $6 off.) After a lot of convincing on my part, I gave in to her kindness and we headed to Costco. We realized once we got there that the coupon was not good for a couple of days, so we left the store empty handed. My co-worker said she'd go back later in the week and purchase them for me. I thanked her graciously. This morning when I got to work, there was not 1 box, but 2 boxes of diapers under my desk. My co-worker stated that the coupon was good for up to two boxes. I was speechless. This particular co-worker and I have no special relationship, she just decided that our family could use the extra help. This is not the first box of diapers she has bought for us, either. We received another box of diapers at the baby shower the firm threw for me. Because of the kindness of my co-worker and many others, as of today and now for at least the next two months Kyle and I have not purchased a single diaper.

This is only one blessing of countless that our little family has received to keep us on our feet.

This just confirms a few things for me:

- Little Beck was meant to come here to this earth, right now, to Kyle and I
- Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers
- You cannot afford to not pay your tithing
- We have the BEST family and friends that ANYONE could EVER ask for!

This is Beckhams 'are you serious?' face.

Seriously? All of these are for me?
