Birthday Uno

Let me first apologize to all other children I have that may see this post someday. I apologize for not giving you as extravagant a party as was thrown for Beck on his first birthday...but let's be honest...do you really remember what you did when you turned one?

Talk about crazy, but we still had fun! Beck's day started at the Pumpkin Patch with 2 of his favorite cousins. Highlights of the day include:

Playing in a bunch of corn?

Eating said corn:

Going on a tractor ride to find the perfect pumpkin:

(Beck is having fun, I promise!)

sitting in the pumpkin patch, a little overwhelmed:

watching Jovie get stuck straddling the mud tracks from the tractor (not happy about this, as you can see):

searching and searching for the perfect ones:

waiting for the tractor to pick us up with our pumpkins:

Riding in some barrels with wheels attached to them attached to a tractor (Only Beck's head is showing, can you find him?):

pony riding for the girls:

playing in the hay:

and not pictured, a petting zoo.

Ahem. In Beck's own words, here is how the evening went.

"Here's me with GG. She's the only normal one at this party. My mom made me dress up in this crazy outfit and I'm sweating like a pig."

"Here's me with my Aunt Kelli and my two cousins, Halle and Jovie. Halle won the costume contest, and I can see why. She looks wicked cool."

"I think this was the best part about my party:

when will I ever get to see them dress up like THIS again?"

"Here's me doing some stuff

and eating a Snickers bar."

"Here's some more people that came to my party; everybody is pretty special to me. Here's Uncle Ron,

Great Grandma Gillespie (we get along well),

Uncle Cade,

my crazy mom and dad,

and my friends Tim and Brooke."

"My mom and GG made me my own special cake. Ya, I liked it."

"Here's my dad trying to steal my cake. I showed him."

"Everybody else got cake, too, and some cookies. Here's some pictures of them."

"I guess all in all, it was a pretty good day. Thanks, everybody, for coming to my party!"

Love, Kyle Beckham Hardy, age 1

Bubba's not a Baby Anymore....

Beck's ONE! Ugh. I've spent all day reminiscing about the day he came to us straight from Heaven! What an overwhelming day it was. Today Kyle called Beck our "Miracle Boy," and I feel like it's true. Every child the world is blessed with is a little miracle, and Beck is no exception. We are so excited for many years to come with our chubby bub!

MORE BECK!

I'm not sure why I've jumped off the blogging bandwagon for a bit...but I think it's time I post some updates of our little (big) guy!

- BECK WALKS! I'd say he walks now just as much as he crawls. He likes this new freedom.

- BECK IS CRAZY! It's official, folks! Beck is pure madness. He's here, and then he's there, and then he's everywhere all at the same time. It's impossible to turn my back without him finding a way to open some 'new' cupboard or making a mess. Maybe that's why I haven't blogged for a while...? :)

- BECK IS STILL CHUBBY! His nickname is stuck for now - he's our Bubba. Even niece Jovie calls him that. In fact, she might even think that's his name.

-BECK IS HAPPY! You'll rarely see Bubba in a bad mood. He's just smiling all the time. He definitely lights up the lives of everyone who comes in contact with him. It's hard to go anywhere these days without Beck flashing his dashing smile and getting stopped a billion times with a 'What a happy baby he is!'

- BECK STILL DOESN'T LIKE HIS NAPS. Oh heavens. Some days, he'll go without a nap at all. Then he won't sleep very well because he's over-tired. Then after a couple of days, he'll crash and sleep really well. Then the cycle starts all over again. :( boo. It's sad for Beck AND for his mom and dad.

-BECK LOVES TO DANCE!

-BECK LOVES TO CHEER FOR HIMSELF!

-BECK SAYS "UH-OH!" when he drops things. He's getting so smart! :)

- BECK IS ALMOST 1!!! THIS HAS BEEN THE FASTEST YEAR OF MY LIFE. I'LL SAY MUSHY THINGS WHEN I WRITE HIS '1 YEAR POST'.

That's all for now. Here's some recent photos of Beck being awesome.

Here's Beck with our cousin Devin, who just left for his second tour in Afghanistan. Devin is in the Marines, and we love him for his service! Hope you're safe, Devin! Beck had to get a photo with the coolest guy we know.

We love Kellen Moore! Go Broncos!

Looking fly.

At the fountain in downtown Meridian! We went to Flatbread for a birthday lunch for Grandma Hardy...and Beck couldn't resist the refreshing water outside.

Afterward, his clothes were spent. He had a little public nudity incident.

This is our big backyard we get for the next year or so, and this is Beck exploring. It's his favorite thing.

Sometimes it's just fun for me to take pictures, so I decided to take Beck downtown with his cousins, Maddie and Kayla to take a few. Here's one of Beck by the fountain:

And here's one with his cousin Maddie by a funny graffiti wall we found.

There's a really cool place we found downtown called Freak Alley (I know, how could I have not known about this until now!) that has some amazing graffiti. Here's a wall we found, with Maddie and Kayla (yes, they are identical twins. :)):

Then Kayla found this really cool panda bear so we had to take a picture.

Well, I had a few more photos to add, but Blogger is being weird. Like always, it seems. Anyway, hope you enjoyed Beck's little inside scoop to his life. :)
