All In One

I don't have a lot of time right now to do separate posts for each event, so I'm going to roll it all into one. Here's some things worth documenting

- Beck is seriously chubby, (and adorable), and right now on this day, a whopping 19.6 pounds.

- We had our first trip to the Urgent Care center when we had a little bath incident with the hot water...Beck's leg got a big fat blister. I won't take a picture.

- Our babe now eats solid foods! He eats his fruits and veggies (most of his veggies) like a champ, and that rice cereal is like his bottle on a spoon. mmmm....

- Beck loooves to play with his cousins. These were taken at a 'movie night'

- Easter happened! Wahoo! More time with cousins! Oh, and if you hadn't noticed, he sits up like a champ.

- This is how happy Beckham is, all of the time. You can't not get him to smile. In these photos he has a pretty gnarly cold, but you can't tell. :)

- On a non-Beck related note, Kyle got an awesome job that he started today. It's full time, and is relevant with his major in school, which is awesome. We will miss Daddy at home, but we couldn't be more grateful.

Ode to Vinny

I went and bought Vinny the week I found out I was pregnant. I picked him because he looked stubborn, and I was determined to keep him ALIVE. So many...ok all of the stupid beta fish I've had just killed over after the first week. This fish was going to prove to me I could take care of a baby. Silly, right? That was seriously what I was thinking when I bought him, though. Stupid Vinny really is just as stubborn as I thought he was... because seriously, he's still alive. It's been well over a year. Just last week Beck was sitting with dad, grabbed the fish bowl, and pulled it over. He started to cry because he was all wet, and Kyle went in to get Beckham into some clean clothes, with the fish still lying on the floor. Ten minutes later, he comes back, grabs Vinny, sticks him in a vase (the vase with my cute homemade flowers in it), and he starts swimming! He's seriously still alive after laying on the carpet for that long. I keep trying to figure out if there's some lesson for me to learn from this...who knows. Way to go, Vinny, you survived.

It's so nice outside!!!!

Yesterday Beck had his first experience playing OUTSIDE! He was so giddy and smiley, and I can't WAIT for summer to be here. I'm hoping this weather doesn't go away so that we can have many more of these fun experiences...so...please please sun, stay here!

P.S.!! Beckham has a new trick! He's been sitting up for about a week now (for long periods of time) and he is so excited about it. Since he's been just tiny, Beck has a funny thing where his head comes up off the ground like he's doing an extended crunch because he wants to sit up SO BAD and now he finally can, without any help from his Bumbo or Mom and Dad. He still can't go from laying down to sitting by himself yet, though, so the crunch lives on until then.

Another trick to document (no video for this yet...), on March 17th Beck rolled over from his tummy to his back. :)

Alright, so I know Beck doesn't talk yet but I swear his faces tell it all...I snapped these just after we got back inside...

"OK Mom, last picture."

"Are you kidding me right now?"

"You better stop"

"I'm just gunna play with this horse and pretend you aren't there"

"MOM, are you KIDDING ME"

"Can you believe this right now, lamb?"

"MOM!"

3 years.

It's our three year anniversary today! It feels like it's flown by...but I think I can safely say we've been through quite a bit. I was counting earlier, we've moved 7 times (yes, 7) since we've been married. We're pros at it. We could do it with our hands behind our back. Our 7th move was just last week. We moved in with Kyle's Grandma Hardy-Bassett. We're in the basement, and we'll be here until Grandma gets back from her mission, which she'll leave for in November. It's a good feeling to know that we're settled in a place for at least a year and a half and we won't have to move a stinking thing until then. Whew! It's been a long time coming!

On a more serious note, we've had our share of hard times, too. This isn't something I normally broadcast, but I've been pregnant 3 times since Kyle and I have been married. My first miscarriage was just a few months after we were married, and my second just more than a year after that. It was difficult to come out of the slump of that, and for a bit I worried maybe it just wasn't in the cards for us to have kids. That's when we found out we were pregnant with Beckham. I've learned everything happens for a reason, and Heavenly Father knows when things are best for us in our lives. Beck was worth every second of heartache and pain to get him here, and I wouldn't ask for it any other way! He's perfect, and knowing how much it took to bring him into our family makes me cherish our little guy even more than I already would have.

All of the experiences Kyle and I have had throughout our marriage have brought us closer. I truly do believe that Heavenly Father gives us trials and happy moments in our lives for us to learn and grow from and that's what makes life soooo sweet. Right?! I'm done being mushy now. Let's look at some of the ridiculous statistics of our marriage.

Moves: 7
Cars: 5 (not all at the same time, of course) and 1 scooter with flame helmet included
Phones (KYLE): 7 (one fell in the ocean, one in the toilet, one through the wash, one with a seriously cracked screen)
Laptops: 2 (one ruined in a rainstorm)
Other various technological things: 9 (Sell this one here, get this one, trade this for that, buy this one, take it back 2 months later, etc. etc.)
Jobs Combined: 8 (this includes the job at Bank of America that Kyle was hired for...and then let go from before his first day.....long story!)
Semesters of school combined: 5
States we've been to: 14
Pounds Gained: Unknown

Alright..after writing that...our lives are ridiculous. If we can make it through that, we can make it through anything! Let's be real! Here's to infinity more years!

Here's some highlights of our lives together:
